Ariel Childs Books: Inspiring Children's Literature

Building Faith and Imagination

Who doesn’t love a good allegory—full of excitement, symbolism, and deeper meaning? One of the best examples is Pilgrim’s Progress—a story so rich in Scripture and biblical truth that its message is unmistakable. That’s the kind of Christian fiction we aim to write: stories that capture kids’ attention with compelling plots but never lose sight of Christ. If children miss the message, the purpose is lost. We hope our books inspire your child to enjoy great stories—and, more importantly, to read the Bible, pray, and grow closer to the Lord.

🌿 A Note from the Author

Hi, I’m Ariel Childs—author of The Island of Sheqer.
Before you read this sample, I want to tell you why I wrote it.

This story was born out of prayer, pain, and hope—and inspired by the wonderful youth at my church. It’s for kids (especially Black children) who’ve been overlooked or wounded and wonder if God still sees them. It’s for families who want stories that deal honestly with suffering but still point to truth, healing, and redemption.

This is not a light, fluffy story. It’s real.
But it’s also full of hope, miracles, and a God who never forgets.

If you or your child are walking through questions of faith, injustice, identity, or healing—I pray this first chapter reaches you.

Thank you for being here.

With love,
Ariel

What would you do….

if the end was only the beginning of the rest of your life?

The world is falling apart, and three kids—Tisa, Kenji, and Akwasi—are caught in the middle of it. They come from different corners of the Island of Sheqer, where life is shaped by poverty, pain, and injustice. But when everything seems lost, they’re called into something far greater than themselves. In a city ruled by lies and cruelty, they must fight to survive.

Alone, afraid, and labeled as cursed, they reach their breaking point—until they hear the voice of God. A voice like roaring waters. A voice that brings peace, purpose, and power. Chosen for a mission they don’t fully understand, the three must decide: will they cling to the past, or step into the future God has prepared for them?

This is a story of hope in the darkest places. Of faith when everything else falls apart. And of three kids who discover that the very last day of time… is just the beginning.

‘Are You Truly Converted?’....

is the gospel message that sends a twelve-year-old boy in search for truth. Naphtali—a skinny six-foot-one basketball and video game lover—is sure of his relationship with God. And who can blame him? He attends church regularly and doesn’t smoke or drink, unlike his peers. However, upon hearing a message about true salvation one night, he realizes things in his life just don’t add up. The message convicts his heart. Once he falls asleep, he has a dream. In his dream, while propped against a tree, an angel appears to him and tells him to go through seven camps to find what he’s seeking. With a most peculiar character as his guide, Naphtali journeys to seven camps—Tolerance, Freedom, Religion, Miracles, Love and Mercy, Slavery, and Israel of God. There is no end to the perils he faces—from a camp that outlaws the Bible and deems it a book of hate to a camp that believes capturing people and selling them as slaves is big business! In each camp, he learns truth about God and truth about his own heart. Both young and old can identify with the internal struggles of fear, suffering, loss, and temptation that Naphtali encounters as he embarks on truth. After learning truth, will he suppress it in his heart; or will he make the choice to deny his flesh, take up his cross, and follow Christ?

A spiritually grounded, faith-based story about the beginning of the end times—not a fantasy.
