Ariel Childs Books: Inspiring Children's Literature
About the Author
Hi, I’m Ariel Childs—author, believer, and lover of bold, honest stories rooted in faith and truth. My passion is to write fiction that speaks to the spiritual and emotional struggles young people face today—especially Black children who often grow up without seeing their stories reflected through a biblical lens.
My debut novel, Camp Israel of God, is a standalone story about a 12-year-old boy named Naphtali who thinks he’s already saved—until one night, a gospel message shakes him to the core. What follows is a dreamlike, supernatural journey through seven symbolic camps: Tolerance, Freedom, Religion, Miracles, Love and Mercy, Slavery, and Israel of God. Each camp forces Naphtali to confront lies he’s believed about God—and about himself. Along the way, he battles fear, loss, and temptation while uncovering the life-changing truth of the gospel. This book is for both the young and the young at heart who are ready to ask hard questions and seek real answers.
My latest project is Island of Sheqer, a children’s fiction series following three Black children from a forgotten island who are chosen by God to bring healing and hope to a world torn by injustice. Blending emotional realism with supernatural moments, this series explores themes of faith, trauma, and divine purpose for readers ages 10–13. It’s a call to believe that even in the darkest places, God is still moving—and still choosing the least likely to lead.
Through both books, my mission remains the same: to tell stories that awaken, convict, and restore. Stories that remind us God sees us, loves us, and is calling us higher.
